The Path In

November 4 – The Path In

“It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage.” — Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark

I had this buddy who got real deep into meditation. He wanted to know how to do it right, so he went to a Buddhist temple for a retreat. He figured, these guys must have the secret. After dinner one night, he found one of the monks sweeping the floor and asked, “How do you meditate?”

The monk shrugged and said, “I don’t know.”

That answer messed with him for a while. But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. There isn’t one perfect way to reach conscious contact — there’s just the way that works for you. For some people, it’s silence. For others, it’s music, walking, journaling, or just sitting still long enough to hear their own heartbeat.

Meditation isn’t about mastering a method — it’s about finding that quiet inner path where I stop running the show. God speaks the language of peace, and each of us has to learn how to listen in our own way.

What’s something that helps you quiet the noise long enough to feel that connection inside?
