Another Day Sober

one day at a time

Think With Your Heart

“Where is the love?” — The Black Eyed Peas

Having been attending AA meetings, we’re starting to feel good. The sober life is a real life, and the old drunken ways of excess are fading away. We’re learning to use the language of the heart instead of the language of the gutter. That old thinking, all get and no give, is slowly losing its grip, and it feels different… better.

Something is shifting. We’re not just thinking our way through life anymore, we’re starting to navigate our way through it given a new moral compass. We’ve been given the gift of thinking with our hearts, and people notice. They’re drawn to it. Not because we’re trying to impress anyone, but because something honest is finally showing up.

The language of the heart is built on honesty. Real honesty. The kind that lets you lay your head down at night without replaying the day like a kid trying to get out of trouble. No spinning, no fixing, no performing. Just truth. And that truth brings a kind of peace we didn’t know we were missing.

Deep down, there’s gratitude now. For being sober. For finding AA. For the people in the rooms who sharpen us without breaking us. By the end of the day, the heart feels full. Not perfect, not problem-free, just… full. And we sleep. Unbothered by the noise that used to run the show.

Now we’re getting ready to take it further. Pen to paper. Looking at what’s been holding us back. Not because we have to, but because we want more of this. More peace. More honesty. More freedom.

We said we’d go to any lengths.

So the question is simple.

Are you still ready to go to any length to stay sober?
