Say It Don’t Spray It

October 5 – Say It, Don’t Spray It
“You can’t handle the truth!” — A Few Good Men (1992)

Restraint is brutal when our mouths want to run. We can still confuse volume with power, sarcasm with honesty, and “telling it like it is” with spiritual growth. Step work teaches us something different: truth without love is just another form of harm — and restraint is the quiet version of courage.

We don’t have to win the argument; we just have to stay right-sized in it. The disease in us still wants to hit send, slam the door, or give a speech nobody asked for. But we’ve learned something simple: silence has never made our lives worse. When we can hold the truth long enough to speak it kindly — or not at all — that’s the real power.

When was the last time we didn’t say what we were thinking — and it actually made things better?
