“Every time I find myself playing God, I end up with all the stress and none of the power.”
Our old ways didn’t work.
Playing God shows up in invasive ways: offering advice when nobody asked, helping others the way we deem they need help, doubting people, judging them, acting like we know all the answers. Not having faith that everything is fundamentally good, looking for problems instead of what is already going well. Tearing down confidence in other people. Discounting other people’s good intentions.
And maybe most of all, forgetting there is a Divine core in everyone.
For after all, if one of us is a child of God, then all of us are children of God. And the ones that seem to act up the most probably just haven’t figured out what that means yet.
Where in your life are you trying to use your old ways to change something?
