We're slowly gaining our self-esteem back. Paired with this God-centered way of living, we begin feeling something that has been missing for a long time: confidence. We can actually feel God putting us back on the path of goodness, and we know something bigger than us is working in our lives.
That confidence starts showing up in simple ways. We feel confident that we have the tools to not drink today. We feel confident that we're probably not going to create any new major trouble for ourselves. We feel connected to the world again instead of hiding from it. The isolation begins to fade, replaced by a growing sense that we're right where we're supposed to be.
Our past has been neatly compartmentalized in the previous steps. We're starting to think about the next steps and what they entail. With our Higher Power right beside us, we're gearing up to go and face our wrongs.
