It's All God's Money

"Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions." — Seventh Tradition

It's easy to think of money as our money.

My paycheck. My savings. My bills.

But what if we've been looking at it backward all along?

Everything we have came from God anyway. We're simply trusted to manage it for a little while. Money isn't the reward—it's a tool. How would you have met that cashier at the grocery store if money hadn't brought you there? How would you have gotten to know the waitress who always asks how you're doing? How would you have met your coworkers if no one ever had to earn a paycheck? How many conversations, friendships, and opportunities to show kindness only happened because money brought your paths together? Maybe money isn't the point at all. Maybe it's just one of the many ways God weaves people's lives together.

In God's economy, the real currency has always been kindness.

When you think about it, what person in your life did money unexpectedly introduce you to?
