Clean-Up Aisle 10

October 6 – Clean-Up Aisle 10
“I get knocked down, but I get up again.” — Chumbawamba

Step 10 isn’t about being perfect — it’s about staying honest enough to clean up after ourselves. When we skip that, life starts to feel sticky. We smear our ego all over the new life we have been trying to build for ourselves. A little self-righteousness here, some silent judgment there. The funny thing is, our defects don’t scream anymore — they whisper. We can look calm on the outside and still be running the show on the inside.

The self-reflection of the program has a way of asking, “How are we really doing with this whole new way of life?” and hands us the mop. Most days, humility is simply admitting we left a mess and cleaning it up without needing a round of applause. Discipline is quiet — like a janitor after hours, just doing the work nobody sees.

What’s something we noticed about ourselves recently that needed a little clean-up — even if nobody else saw it?
