Another Day Sober

one day at a time

Trash Day

So far in this step process we’ve taken some of the garbage out of our lives and cleaned house, or at least piled it up so we can deal with it later. Some of this old stuff has been sitting around a long time, but now it’s bagged up and not scattered everywhere. We can take it out when the time comes.

The first thing they helped us with is getting alcohol out of the picture. That’s huge. We’re not alone anymore, and we’re cleaning this house together. Next, they helped us remove all our old ideas about a Higher Power so we could feel some new Power flow in to help us live this life one day at a time. Next, we’ve been given a pathway out of resentment, fear, and manipulation.

As a result, we’re naturally changing into wonderful people. People who are helping without the thought of return. It’s what we’ve always wanted for ourselves, and the process is happening so naturally it almost feels like our old lives are just slipping away without much effort on our part. A sober life feels lighter, and the laughs are more abundant.

Are you able to laugh a little easier now that life is becoming more manageable with AA on your side?
