The Echo in the Room

October 9 – The Echo in the Room
“Hello, hello, hello, how low?” — Nirvana

I still hear the echo of my old self bouncing around the room — the one who always had to be right, get the last word, and prove I wasn’t weak. Turns out, the quieter I get, the faster I grow. The echo fades when I stop feeding it.

I don’t have to slam doors or win arguments anymore. I just have to keep the floor clean between my ears. The disease still loves noise; humility whispers. Most days, the work is just learning to hear the difference.

Where do you still hear the old version of yourself getting loud, and what helps you quiet it down today?
