The Power of We

JANUARY 22 – The Power of We

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” — African Proverb

Somewhere along the way, "We" started to matter. It wasn’t just the word that opens the First Step — it became a lifeline. I used to think my strength was doing things alone. Turns out, alone was killing me.

Now I sit in rooms full of people who understand exactly what that feels like. When one of us is hurting, someone else shares something that lands dead-on. I’ve come to believe that’s how this thing really works — we lend each other faith when we’re short on it.

We isn’t a crowd; it’s a current. When I stay connected, I stay sober. And still, there’s a voice that whispers, You don’t need them anymore. That voice always shows up right before I drift. When I hear it, I know I need the we most.

If someone came in tonight without a single phone number, what would you want them to leave with before they walk out the door?
