Another Day Sober

one day at a time

Trying to Mean It

“Every little thing is gonna be all right.” — Bob Marley, “Three Little Birds” (1977)

We’ve heard the Serenity Prayer at every meeting since we got here. At first, it was just something we said on the way to the coffee.

Lately, we’ve been listening.

“Serenity to accept…” — not our favorite, but probably needed.
“Courage to change…” — yeah, we could use some of that.

Some days we don’t feel serene at all. But we say it anyway. Maybe it starts working before we fully believe it.

Are we willing to keep saying it until it does?

What line is sticking with us today?
