Another Day Sober

one day at a time

Tell Me What Happened?

So we’re knee deep in our Fourth Step now. We’ve got a list of names, and yeah, the resentments are still spinning around in our heads. But we start to notice something… the list is done. That alone feels like a win. This whole thing is already working, and somehow it’s starting to feel smaller than it did before we ever walked into our first meeting.

Now we move to the second column: the cause.

So… what happened?

Keep it brief. This isn’t where we go relive the whole story and get ourselves all spun up again. We’re not here to get spiritually sick. Just a few bullet points. What actually went down. Enough to remind us what this is about when we come back to it later.

If we need an example, we can always look at Mr. Brown. Seems that flirty bastard messed with the wrong guy’s wife. But even then, we try to keep it clean. Keep it simple. Keep a lid on the emotion and just write what happened.

Facts. Just the facts.

Because this isn’t about proving anything. It’s about seeing it clearly.

So are we writing the truth… or are we still telling the story the way we want it remembered?
